Quality Scent Detection Canines protect life and property.
Many pest infestations are concealed and are missed by conventional detection methods.

FSI offers the highest quality scent detection canine training program available. FSI has placed termite dogs and mold dogs from Canada to Puerto Rico and from Maryland to California. Our termite dogs and mold dogs are finding termites and mold in the real world and thereby helping their owners and handlers protect their clients from termite and other pest damage and from the health risks presented by mold. These dogs are finding these threats to life and property in real homes and businesses where people depend on them to help protect their health and property. Termite and mold infestations that are not visible would be missed by conventional detection methods. But a properly trained mold or termite dog needs only a trace amount of odor to detect these unseen hazards behind walls and other visual barriers.

FSI is a founding member of the World Detector Dog Organization (WDDO) which is committed to excellence in training and certification, and provides networking opportunities across North America, througout the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean. [click for more info]
WDDO fills a void in the scent detection canine industry where no organization previously existed to support mold, termite and other privately owned and handled scent dogs. Along with drug, bomb and search and rescue dogs, mold and termite dogs now have access to a support structure that offers comprehensive proficiency testing and certification as well as the opportunity to network with other owners and handlers from across Canada, North America and the Caribbean. FSI’s head trainer, David Latimer is one of the founders of WDDO and serves as its Past & Founding President.

Everyone knows how important a drug dog can be to the effort of fighting illicit drugs or a bomb dog can be to public safety. In the same manner a properly trained and maintained mold or termite dog can be an indispensable tool for the professional mold or termite inspector. FSI supports these professionals with ongoing training and performance testing. This is one of the reasons that FSI’s head trainer was instrumental in the founding of a new canine organization, called WDDO (World Detector Dog Organization).

At FSI we take pride in our commitment to excellence and our customer satisfaction track record. We treat people like we would want to be treated in that we ask of people what we practice ourselves; do what you say you’re going to do and do your best at it. That commitment guarantees you that we will spend whatever amount of time is needed to get your dog ready for the street and make it and you the best scent detection canine team you can be.
The fact is, no one trains a better more dependable work dog than FSI. FSI’s head trainer, David Latimer, depends on the dogs he trains every time he goes to work as a police officer. His dogs must dependably search for and find the odors they are trained on. David applies the same training methodologies to his termite dog and mold dog programs that he uses for his narcotics, bomb and tracking dogs. The only substantial difference in the training methodologies is the target odor. If you decide on a termite dog or a mold dog from FSI you’re buying from some one who understands what it means to rely on a dog’s sense of smell to help you make a living.
The bottom line is if you want substance and want to work with a no nonsense trainer who is dedicated to canine scent detection, FSI is a good choice for your canine scent detection needs. At FSI you won’t get hype or PR about how many times we’ve been on TV or how much greater we think we are than every body else. What you will get is a quality work dog at a reasonable price.
